Artificial Flower Arrangements
I think the last piece of the puzzle for me, as far as fixing up the house with plants goes, will be artificial flower arrangements. I won't go crazy with these though. I'm leaning towards a definite deluge of trees in the house. You can get them into every corner if you want to. My husband sighs every time I tell him about everything that I want to add. But as far as flowers go, I think I'll use them more sparingly. But just by a little. They would be great for adding some color here and there.

I have the same block with anything green and alive. I can't get them to grow no matter what I do. I'm either underwatering, overwatering, or screwing up the amount of sunlight. It's a curse. Animals love me. But plantlife secretly plots its revenge. That's probably another reason that I'm getting excited about decorating. Since I was never into it before, I never even considered artificial flower arrangements. Sure, having a garden and growing your own isn't necessary if you want flowers. You can always just buy them and put them in a vase yourself. But those don't last for very long, and you have to keep on changing them and getting new ones. I tried that for a while, but with my schedule, and my husband's schedule, we always forget to keep up with it. The color ads so much to a room though.
I used to love having it as centerpiece on the dining room table. Not that we ever had a proper dining room until now. Our places were always pretty small. But a nook in the kitchen counts. That's where I used to put them whenever I remembered to. But with this new place, we have a real, honest-to-goodness dining room. And if I get some artificial flower arrangements I can have one of them there all the time. I thought I would change it up depending on the season. I can have diffeent colors and styles of artificial flower arrangements for each time of year. Maybe several for one time too. Like, I'll have a particular style of them for winter, but have something different for Christmas and New Year. I think that would be the best way to go about it. That way, things will stay fresh and different. Because I think the tendency for decorating with artificial flower arrangements might be to just put something down and leave it there. But I want to really celebrate the change in season with my home decorating.
You know, I really can't believe I just wrote that. And I know my husband never thought he'd see the day either. I actually want to decorate, and decorate frequently to boot! I don't think it'll be too difficult though. if I just stick to changind a few key things. I'm not planning to make the whole place different a couple times a year. But if I change the artificial flower arrangements and maybe some tablecloths and knick-knacks it should be fine.
